The DoD EA for Cyber Training Ranges will develop, coordinate, and integrate plans to synchronize activities across the designated cyber training ranges and establish appropriate training infrastructure architectures and standards in order to provide a cohesive set of training resources (e.g. facilities, capabilities, and workforce) needed to ensure that DoD has a realistic, scalable, and persistent cyber range architecture. This architecture will improve the readiness of the cyber workforce by providing the capability to train and mission-rehearse consistently. A federated set of cyber training range capabilities that are developed, funded, owned and operated by DoD Components is envisioned. The DoD EA will have appropriate authorities and resourcing partners with DoD Components to evolve existing capabilities to achieve this cohesive vision. Ranges are dual-purpose and serve a multitude of stakeholders; therefore, the DoD EA for Cyber Training Ranges will coordinate and synchronize efforts with the DoD EA for Cyber Test Ranges, and with other DoD Components. Recognizing in particular the criticality of the existing DoD Cyber Ranges to the establishment of a cyber training environment, the DoD EAs for Cyber Range Test and Training will develop a memorandum of agreement that ensures the apportionment of training assets, infrastructure, and range enhancements to meeting testing requirements on the designated cyber ranges.

This may not always be the same as the title of the designating issuance. Description: The general purpose and scope of the assignment. Date Assigned: The date of the designating document or specific date the Executive Agent assignment became effective, if different. Expiration Date: Date specified, if applicable, that the Executive Agent responsibilities end. Review Date: Typically three to five years after the assignment. This date should be used to determine the validity of the Executive Agent assignment and whether it should be continued. Signature: The signatory of the designating document. Executive Agents may only be assigned by either the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) or the Deputy Secretary of Defense (DepSECDEF). Principal Staff Function: Each Executive Agent assignment has a Principal Staff Assistant (PSA) assigned to it for oversight and monitoring. Joint Staff Function: The Joint Staff directorate that applies to the function or mission of the Executive Agent. DoD Component: The Head of a DoD Component assigned as Executive Agent. Agency: The Head of the DoD Component assigned the Executive Agent responsibility will normally assign the duties of performing the functions to an agency within his Component. If this has been done the Agency will be blank. Office: The office within the Agency that is assigned to carryout the Executive Agent responsibilities. Executive Agent POC: An individual within the responsible Agency who has been assigned to monitor the Executive Agent assignment. This would be the person to contact for specific Executive Agent information. Primary Document: The issuance making the Executive Agent assignment and signed by the individual entered in the "Signature" entry. The document typically will be a memorandum, directive, or instruction and will include the Executive Agent designation. Primary Document Location: Location of the Primary Document. If it can be found on the Internet the URL will be linked. If it is hard copy only the office holding a copy will be entered. Primary Document Date: Issue date of the Primary Document Secondary Document: In some cases the Primary Document may be a memorandum designating the Executive Agent, but contains little or no details concerning specific responsibilities. In this case a Secondary Document may be listed to further spell out the Executive Agent duties and responsibilities. Secondary Document Location: Location of the Secondary Document. If they can be found on the Internet the URL will be linked. If it is hard copy only the office holding a copy will be entered. Secondary Document Date: Issue date of the Secondary Document.
